Meet Catherine Galligan, the Region 6 Sales Intern. She is a senior at Kansas State majoring in Marketing and minoring in Agricultural Economics. Her summer with Producers Hybrids has already been very busy!
A typical day for Catherine consists of soil sampling, stand counting, returning or delivering seed, and planting plots. She has been traveling all over western Missouri, Kansas, and eastern Colorado learning about each individual dealer’s unique needs.
I enjoy the hands-on aspect of being able to visit dealers and learn how they run their businesses,” says Catherine. “I have independence to do many things on my own which allows me to learn faster.
Catherine’s goal is to get to know customers better while furthering her knowledge of the products so that she may know what best fits their fields. She looks forward to hosting a field day toward the end of her internship and showcasing products to potential customers.
After she graduates in December 2018, Catherine hopes to obtain a job in the seed industry in western Kansas, and possibly become a dealer herself.
