A Momentum is Building

The Open Road: Many Players, One Goal

I hit the road solo this week traveling to Missouri and Kansas to meet Betsy Larson – Marketing Project Manager, Eric Klein – Agronomist, and Cate Galligan – Sales Intern. It takes many different players to get the Producers Hybrids job done. This week I witnessed three different employees working together toward a common goal, even though they were all doing very different things.

Betsy is super organized. Her job is to make sure all the marketing projects stay on track with branding and deadlines. We were able to spend the day working out of a café in Kansas City. In the midst of explaining all of the programs, projects and procedures I would need to know for the summer, Betsy’s inbox never dropped below 30 emails that needed follow up that day or the next. Her role, like others on the marketing team, is crucial for customers across the Midwest to recognize and trust the Producers Hybrids (and soon-to-be LG Seeds) brand.

Eric’s job happens in the field. His passion for agronomy is evident in the way he held up an infected leaf, pointed out some funky roots, or noticed an unwanted insect. He was constantly taking notes about the crop. His keen eye for these issues makes him an invaluable resource for both the customers and the company.

Cate never stops driving. While she has a lot of windshield time, her role is critical because seed gets returned, signs get delivered, and plots get checked. Her excitement to learn from her DSM mentors is evident in her willingness to accomplish any task. Producers Hybrids depends on summer interns to get those extra tasks done that help the company go above and beyond for customers.

These three employees are only few of the many that work hard in unique roles to keep customers updated, supplied, and happy. This summer, my goal is to spend time with many others in order to get a grasp of the Producers Hybrids – soon-to-be LG Seeds – impact. While each team member plays an important role, the big picture proves that we all #DoMoreTogether.
